Yeah its the parent company and regarding their historic dealings, they've already increase the subs price so Im guessing its to pay if they lose. Just goes to show that bad practices at the start of trading can come back to bite you.

Alas, Grooveshark as of last night (and indeed Content Unlimited at the moment) are no more
Useful service for getting those songs I hadn't got an ongoing need for (i.e. only every likely to play once and then never again), or for when you needed something in a hurry on the night.
Subscription to CU now cancelled and waiting for VDJ's next move. Somehow I don't think the labels are going to make it easy for this type of service though.
Thats a bit of a crapper - best get converting then.

Anyone using this service? Seems reasonably priced and appears to be legit...
Comments?
Im gonna do some math - I was paying 9.99 a month for content unlimited but Im not sure how many new tracks I would actually get - would i get more than 20 tracks a month is the question?

I found that site a while ago - it seems to be whatever the wav advocates around here use, having had a name change. I'm tempted to try signing up.. they can only say 'no' to a mobile DJ.
EDIT: I just tried signing up & now I'm signed up. No awkward questions... time to load it up with some credits. I can't see it being much cop at a venue for emergency downloads though, not when they're uncompressed WAV files.

Rights / Clearance FAQ: Does downloading music from I Like Music give me the right to use it in a production for broadcast/public performance?
No. I Like Music is only a method of delivering high quality music it does not give you automatic clearance rights to the music.
I'd take that as meaning we couldn't use it at a disco. Mind you, having had a quick glance, it seems to ban every conceivable use for it.
