ADJ Mega TriPar query

Looking at the manuals for ADJ & Stairville kit (mega tripar profile & Stairville Tri Flat Par) it looks like they'd both have to be in 3ch mode.. Channel 1 is red, 2 is green & 3 is blue on both.

My controllers need them to be in 3 channel mode. That's why the Plus are ruled out instantly, because they can't do 3 channel, because of the UV.

At first glance, I'd say things look promising re the Stairvilles. .

The new Plus won't do three channel, which is what my controllers need. Thus, no they won't work together, at least not with the controllers I want to use. Now whether you could set both to use more channels to achieve the desired result, that I'm not sure.

What I want to know, and Dazzy answered another question, was what happens when you link a Tripar and a Stairville from a simple hardware controller, and give them both the same commands?

Do they refuse to talk to each other, or do they lose something in translation, and Tripar red is Stairville green, perhaps?

If you join them up in a chain, and push the red fader up, do both units show red? That's basically what I want to know.

Unfortunately, I don't have a hardware controller. MaqicQ is the Chamsys software that sends it's signals through the £10 Chamsys dongle.

What I was doing was using the software to send signals to the two groups of 4 fixtures and this worked a treat. However, when I use them at Sunday's wedding, both units have presets for the two colours that I need so I'm thinking of just using them master/slavex3. I can have the master units nearest me and then change the programs using the IR remote if needs be. But I'm thinking of just having them on the two colours all night. Using the DMX may be just a little overkill for what I want to achieve this weekend.
