Here is a good idea of what tracks are most popular with guests.

    http://djeventplanner.com/mostrequesteduk.htm

Every DJ has their own style and selection of music they will lean towards. For example I find myself playing Arrow - Hot Hot Hot at almost every gig.
You will probably need 95% of the tracks listed at some point though.

    Hi mate,

The "100 Hits" Albums are good for starting outs, loads of genres to chose from.

Good luck with building your collection up

I have the CD Pool Mobile DJ Pack subscription which is about £33 per month. You get 3 CDs which are posted out to you, but are also available to download from the members area on their website.

The Radio CD gets sent out at the very beginning of the month and the Radio Extra and Dance Hits CDs get sent out about 3/4's of the way through the month - If there's any big hits that chart during the month, they send you an email with a download link, so you get them straight away.

I also use iTunes, Amazon, 7Digital and BeatPort to purchase music too. As Daryll said, To build your collection from scratch, the 'Now That's What I Call Music!' collections are great (and also radio edits to remove swearing) as well as albums such as '101 Party Hits', 101 80's, '101 70's' etc.
    Scott.
