Default John Bradbury also died today

John Bradbury of the Specials / the Selecter died today. Not many details yet, other than he's dead.

Another one from my youth who has now gone. Pretty sad.
I remember when I bought The Specials LP from WH Smiths in Basingstoke in 1979. I bought The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan at the same time. It took me a while to save up the money for them both from my morning paper round.

I had the pleasure of working with him once, he came across as quite a decent bloke (shame the same couldn't be said for the singer that night)

It was a bad day for these announcements. First it was Lemmy, then "Brad", then I heard that Guru Josh had passed away, too.

Working in the music industry, I keep pinching myself to make sure I haven't been taken, too!!

And not just music. Pavel Srnicek, the ex-Newcastle Utd goalkeeper who collapsed with a heart condition last week also died yesterday. He may have played for "the opposition" up here but even as I Mackem I can't deny he was a great goalie and a great ambassador for North-East football.

    RIP to all you lads.
