    Default Vanishing Beaches ?

Nothing to do with climate change !

With Christmas, New Year...... & Furniture Sales fast disappearing from our screens, thoughts turn to Booking the Summer Holidays.
May I recommend Cornwall as a destination as it must surely boast the cleanest beaches in the world...... especially since they have now been treated with twenty-seven tonnes of stain remover ?

Wonder what the 'Tip Exchange' advises ?

I loved the fact that the MV Blue Ocean lost a container of Vanish, bottles of Vanish are washing up on the shore, but " Cornwall Council say there is no available evidence that the bottles washed up on the coast are from this container".

If it walks like a Duck, and quacks like a Duck, I call that bird a Duck.

Lucky that most are sealed, that would devastate everything in the ecosystem it touches from algae up if they all leaked. Bet that was kept quiet by the shipping company. Prison terms and massive fines would be handed out especially if the habitat was damaged. Depends whats in vanish mind you but I am guessing all kinds of nasties due to the fact that its so hardcore on stains.

As long as it's not Sodium hydroxide (as in drain cleaner !!) , which would undoubtedly demand the reconstruction of the gallows ??

No you are right. thanks for bringing that up. Still got the scars. it healed remarkably well mind you.

Yes any strong acid or alkaline (which was in my case) will damage any ecosystem, but does not last as long as other elements (such as heavy metals) and is reasonably easy to counter act with the opposite solution. I am guessing that Vanish has a bleaching effect which is a reasonably strong alkaline so a weak naturally forming acid.

God knows what the PH was of what I came into contact with, but i doubt it will be that much.

I am sure Vanish will be on the case to assist and improve the PR of this incident.

... and come out of it without a stain on their spotless reputation ?

In fairness they did trial a small area of beach first, before the main application

Perranporth Beach and the Watering Hole pub nearly vanished two years ago.
