Haha its funny why people always need an excuse to do something. I used to do it but now I make an effort to just tell the truth... I want it cheaper because I want to pay less lol!

My favorite reason was "if you reduce the price we will allow you to take photos of your set-up for promotional use" this was offered because at the time I had never worked at this particular venue

Nice of them to give you permission to take photos of your own kit with your own camera. How very generous of them!

I did a wedding at a huge pile in the forest. The daughter phoned me from her business in Hong Kong and said.

"my parents have to sell the house as they are not making the money they did, we had such lovely parties as children and it will be the last one, so can we have a discount".

I thought, well they could sell the house for 1-2 million buy a lovely cottage near by for £6-700 and comfortably live off the profit for the rest of their lives as both kids had moved out ages ago. Oh well worth trying i guess?

Obviously chair covers would contribute much more to their day than a Dj could ever do. s
