Go with the flow and ask for requests. Mix it up to start with then that will jog some memories and they'll start to remember their faves. I'm guessing you'll be playing a lot of 90's dance classics. Don't forget 80's Rock (Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith etc.) and drop some 90's BritPop and Boy/Girl band cheese as well (Spice Girls, Five, Backstreet etc.).

Well if its first time be careful requested tracks are actually available--nothing worse than not having music if requests are requested!!!

You could do worse than Google most popular tracks of the 80s and 90s.

i imagine there are posts on here previously re this topic, Mods will guide you hopefully.

The 80's can actually be a tough decade if you're doing a night of it (and I do a specialist 80's night complete with my original light boxes from the era).

Go with the flow. Although the 80's was a brilliant decade for music...some of it is complete pants when it comes to dancing. It's also a huge decade so far as genres go (it went from Punk at the start to cheesy pop at the end), with the New Romantics and Two Tones somewhere in the middle.

As has already been mentioned, mix it up a bit and the requests will come flooding in as people remember what they used to dance/listen to back then...they're really fun nights to do.

A good bet if you're not 100% au-fait with the 80's is to tune into Absolute 80's on the interwibble or DAB. You'll get a feel for what's "dancy" type of stuff by listening to that for a day.

As for the 90's - think of what was played in the clubs at the time (things like Robin S, Moloco, M-People)....that's dead easy
