    Default Equipment Storage Insurance

At the moment I'm paying 2 lots of insurance.

One company to insure it at the storage unit, and another for when it's out and about (including accidental damage - beer on speaker for example!)

I'd rather bring these in to one company, especially as the storage unit insurance is provided by the storage unit company which I doubt is competitively priced.

However, the storage unit company have strict requirements about what the insurance must cover, so I need a specialist.

Who do you have your equipment insured with? And I don't want an off the shelf like DJ Guard - I need this to be specific to my requirements!

If you have something like this let me know.

Anything below £200 per year will save me money (on £6k insured kit)!

I'm watching this as it occurred to me the other day that the insurances I have probably don't cover the kit at rest (anywhere!)

Unfortunately I have nothing helpful to offer to solve your problem though

You could try giving these a call....

They specialise in insurance for the music and entertainment industry and I believe supply the NADJ with their global PLI policy. They certainly administer policies to the Musician's Union.

I had this when I used storage king, their rule was if you weren't a VAT company you had to take their insurance which seemed a bit daft.

I've got 20k cover for my kit being in storage which is provided by "simply business" and underwritten by W R Berkley. This is about £350 per year.

Mine simply has a number of requirements that have to be met - most "standard" cover falls down on at least one of the requirements.
