Edward, the piccy in post #19 looks like a nice workable rig. Well done.
I may have to check out these Quad Phase, folk seem to rate them.

Toby, yes a handful of uplighters around and behind the disco can give a superb effect, I always like to have that where possible.

My wireless DMX uplighters transformed my Djing. I would not even consider being in a dark room (unless I made it dark to encourage dancing) again. The Cuety has made things so nice now as the whole room can be lightened or darkened to suit. So just having uplighting would mean that you don't need a single light near the set up, so fits into a compact space.

Best light I have bought. Noisy, but very bright.

I don't find mine noisy at all. Certainly not silent but it's definitely not noticable when music is playing even at background levels.

Try using them during a wedding breakfast especially speeches.

    Really loud then.

Ahh well in that case why even have them powered on? I keep mine off during the 1st dance with my GigAbar's remote power switch

What are they doing on during a meal and speeches? There shouldn't be any lighting going on (with the exception of static uplighting) at that stage of the proceedings.

Toby, I'm missing something here. Why when the guests of honour are doing their stuff are you in the corner 'aving it large with your plethora of lighting effects?

I won't be using the more lively effects until after the first dance, at the earliest.

Even when DMXd off the qp hp fan runs so I suspect that's what Toby is talking about. Even so I don't think the fan noise is obtrusive

Whilst I'm pretty sure the Tobemeister has his lighting off via DMX, there is a small part of me that's hoping that Peter's scenario is true. The thought of a DJ bouncing around in the corner with strobing effects going nuts whilst nan is tucking into her meal is hilarious.
