C-Ray/8 v Evox 8
I've spent the past couple of days since joining readings lots of different threads and the Evox 8 has been one of the main topics I've been looking at.
I went to a party last year where the host had a pair of these set up:
http://www.monacor.co.uk/categories/...pa/vnr/255630/
I was wondering, based on specs, which is technically better?
The sound from the C-Ray/8 was amazing and was the first time I'd seen a set up like that.
Thanks

Haven't seen or heard that one, but it will have to go some to beat the undoubted class of the field, the Evox. If I got the price right, it's in the same area as the Maui 5. Might be worth comparing them.

Yeah I agree, I was only comparing them two as the Evox seems to fit my needs perfectly, apart from the price. A friend of mine can get a decent price for me on Monacor gear, hence the comparison.

Interesting--Monacor appear on investigation to be a German outfit with links ( no idea what they are) to JTS my fave Radio Mike Manufacturer---
Based in MK might be worth a visit locally for a demo?
Service and warranty back up might be a factor?
Whats the warranty--I got 5 vears with Peavey kit.
Also dont forget Fabtronic in Northampton stock similar kinds of systems.

Yes, my friend works closely with them so can get me a pair for under £800, going to see if I can get a demo of these and then check out Fabtronic. Will also look into warranty/service.

If you get them "cheap" make sure you get full warranty etc.
Out of interest Peaveys Warranty only applies to the purchaser--it cant be passed on.

So what are they Tony?
Are they manufacturers or distributors /agents? Or both?
Not a name thats well known ( although thats not a negative)
JTS who they appear to be working with as a partner ( dont know what exactly thats all about) is not that well known either but they make brilliant Radio Mikes.

A large company supplying Europe they are manufacturers based in Germany or they were when i last used them.I agree with you re JTS part of Hornby/Skews group who are suppliers of HK audio but to name just a few ,in my opinion the disco boys are rather ignorant when it comes to the whole scene of sound and lighting through out Europe.

Maybe the manufacturers should do more to promote what they do.
FBT are doing a good job of it in the UK.
There's a lot to be said for the after-sales support you get.
