Default Most unusual song asked for First Dance

OK so here is the 'other thread' inspired by the Nat King Cole L-O-V-E first dance one

Question: Most unusual song you were ever requested as a first dance?

For me this is very easy to answer.... Played one at Floral Hall stoke-on-trent (very nice venue!) earlier this summer........... and First dance was

    OMD- Electricity!

Was some sort of thing between the bride and her father that came up with that one as her father always used to dance with her when she was a little kid to that song or some such reason.

Beat that one for 'off the wall' first dance Knowing you lot I bet some of you can though

John Mayer: Slow Dancing In A Burning Room. It's a beautiful song and Mayer on the guitar is obviously awesome. It's also about a relationship ending.

Although my favourite first dance of all time is Lil John: Get Low.

most unusual so far as been er.. just about every wedding of the summer. Hardly anybody chose versions of tracks I already had, or that were especially well known. Most off the beaten track, and by far the most awful was 'Sea of Love' by Cat Power. Awful. Just absolutely awful.

    I can beat that

OK - it's a 10 year vow renewal on Friday and not a wedding...but he's sort of....well....done a Croaky version of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" which includes an awful lot of talk-over bits declaring undying love for his wife.

I'll post a copy of the track in the members only section if I can

One of my B&G’s had The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band’s ‘Canyons Of Your Mind’....

Another had McCartney’s ‘We All Stand Together’ (the frog chorus one) - everybody started waltzing to it lit by a single mirror ball, it was quite surreal..(they were a very eccentric crowd anyway).

From just a few weeks ago... The Jokers Song by Miracle of Sound (from the Suicide Squad soundtrack). Bit odd and the guests didn't get it either.

I had a couple do the Birdie Dance once. Honestly. It was actually really funny and everyone joined in!
