    Default Lightmaxx Quad star

This seems to be a cheaper equivalent to the Quad phase which seems to get much love around here. anyone have it?

    Whoah nice find there!

Also found it at a UK seller. Used dv247 before & found them to be lovely service-wise.

    http://www.dv247.com/lighting-and-ef...tar-hp--209824

Cheaper than a Chauvet Swarm, and with nothing I don't want (cluster, silly strobe LEDs).. Could be worth a punt!

Hmmm yet more evidence it's similar to a QP HP... DMX channel layout & functions are exactly the same. Oh I think I'm a-gonna buy me one.

Had seen the DV247 price too. Managed to get two for £230 delivered. Happy days!

Anyone got any feedback on them ?

The main difference I can see versus the HP Quad is that they don't have white in the LED, which I use in slow rotation for first dances.

Ahh but they do! The german site has a link to a manual. Even the dmx channel mappings are the same except this one also has another dmx mode.

Do you never get togs beating you up over that? I'd have been in one's bad books if I couldn't set my lights the way he wanted he other week

And they don't have a loud fan!!

Those fans on the HP are so loud, completely useless when being used for low noise applications!!
But they don't look as good as they are basically quads with an upgraded bulb, hence the lower price.
It does make me wonder on the quality of the product as they have put one big fan in the HP's to lower the heat.

After all there are only a couple of places actually selling this light? Given the demand for the HP it should be selling well.
7 on the list on Google is this thread and it was only created 24/10, so there is limited production or a problem with the product?
My guess is if you look hard enough on Alibaba, you would find the original chinese product for £80.
They are probably just reselling As I don't see a brand name printed on it?

Are you sure Colin, it says RGBW? Not having white would be a [pain for me as thats the main reason I bought mine.
I don't use red or green, just white and blue.

there is a fixture file got my lighting controller too banded about, which would help.

I put them on the ceiling 100% of the time now, they never say anything now.

They are £108 here (and £4 delivery). circa £220 for 2 fixtures that bright is well worth the money.

Correction, it's £250 + the delivery charges (you forgot to add the VAT) the price shown is ex VAT.

Toby you keep saying how loud the fan is. I keep thinking maybe yours is (are?) faulty.

The fan in my QPHP is noticable if you're near it but I find it pretty quiet. Certainly quieter than either my hazer or WashFX
