Sorry, no probably me being thick then, i assumed it would act as a preamp, but maybe not?
A decent mic has worked for me in the past. The Kam's I have are wonderful for that as they have a really long pick up range
Unless I am prepared I rarely have the condensers, but thats the best bet.

Always handy having a wired/wireless mic and mic stand in the car.

I think Toby has misunderstood the purpose of Phantom Power! Mind you, it took me years to actually find out what it was for!!
For anyone else not in the know, Phantom Power (+48v) is a convient way of getting power to devices where plugging them in to the mains, a transformer or separate power supply would be quite awkward. Pressing the Phantom Power button sends 48v of direct current (DC) from the channel the device is connected to, down the cable and to the device to power it. Such devices are usually condenser mics but there are others such as certain DI boxes.
Very brief but I hope that clears things up a little. But Phantom Power isn't a pre-amp! Pre-amp is a signal booster to amplify the signal before it gets to the normal amp stage. Phantom Power is a power supply! Simples!

I suppose it solves the problem though. I'd imagine it would be difficult to play the guitar after being electrocuted.
Its dead handy for my old condensers. I don't use them anymore as i have battery ones.

Yet more evidence of the wimpy generation who's feelings get hurt by a bad word.
I'm tellin' ya now, if the Germans invade again...
...it would be completely unexpected and absolutely nothing to joke about.

Just heard back from the client. They're now bringing their own speaker for the guitarist. Best solution all round!
