    I think a few people, like me, were thinking the very same thing!

    To be fair, it could be said that no matter what you use there'll be something out there that is better. When you start comparing the kit you use, and are happy with, side by side with other kit then that's when this business can get very expensive!!

    Of course - there's a balance to be made.

    But until you've compared, you can't tell the difference a higher quality piece of equipment can make to your show.

    But equally, sadly there are still too many "muffled" DJs who don't know how to EQ a mic, where even an expensive mic will still sound rubbish.

    This industry needn't be "expensive", if you're charging the right rates. I invest in high quality equipment, and invest in myself, and because of that, I can command much higher rates. Making that equipment become great value for money.

    How right you are,i have been doing this job for 50 years and have always invested in the best equipment available ,and never had any trouble in moving it on when something new comes along .
