I usually just stuck to classics and the charts for those types of gigs.

My mate did a 21st many years ago.
During the evening there was a scuffle between two lads.
One pushed the other and he fell backwards through a glass door and he died of his injuries.
Kids and drink don't mix well.
This is why I rarely did 21sts or 18th's.

To be fair adults and drink don't either

I'm VERY selective with the kind of places I'll do a 21st (I won't touch an 18th) and my pricing is such that the very few I do are usually fairly placid affairs - I'll leave the ones where you have the real potential from drama to someone else.

Location location. venues generally are key, as a lot of 50 year olds can still be complete idiots.
Sounds horrible being thrown through a glass door. Glad I dont have to do events like that now.
I spent the first 2 years doing all sorts of rough events and now choose my clients very carefully.

I do the odd private residence 21st's and I have to say the clients and guests are usually wonderful.
The houses are usually 6+ beds though with large gardens, so you would hope so really.

The pre event meetings are so crucial for myself. I love sitting in someone home/venue planning the night with them.
I just cant get my head around DJ's that get booked for events and have no communication with the clients??
All they have is times, some names and thats that. its not hard to send and email and ask the client what music they want?
