Unfortunately as is always the case with YouTube, you end up watching loads of other videos, and it seems there's all sorts you can do with projectors. How long before someone launches a light fixture which is just a projector with a few pre-programmed modes on it?
Going off topic somewhat but there's lots you can with a projector. 3D Mapping is a feature I'm really impressed with.

I think I would be looking at 250-500 mw power judging by my Lanta laser. Its just right, especially as its blue. http://www.theaudioworksuk.com/lanta...mpwaAtNw8P8HAQ

Very narrow spread tho'. You'll need more than one to get decent coverage.

Me too. I've seen what our friends "over the pond" do with wedding cakes.......awesome. That said, it seems to be dying a death over there at the moment. They now seem to be into actually buying and using booths instead of tables

Err, Wayne, this is the Mobile Disco Directory, not Caterers Monthly.

it looks good, but I dont see the point personally? It would take a long time to get right (probably) and you would have to charge accordingly. As opposed to a static monogram, which i can design from scratch and present in a total of 5 mins. Americans love their grand formalities and drawn out entrances etc. so its probably (at the moment anyway) something that may not take off over here yet?? I suppose you could offset the cost of cake decoration as a justification?

I assume this was for the projector as the Lanta cluster fills a whole room no sweat, its amazing actually. I have had a go with the Mac projector software on my TV and its OK, but I dont want to be running a seperate PC for what is a very basic program. i would rather record a video loop and play it off the projector, a function that I dont think you can do. Also as mentionioned you would need more than 1 projector in a wide room and its also often used for monograms.

I will test this avenue with haze and smoke in the house, but think a half decent laser on DMX through Cuety is the best bet. I would install wireless DMX so it would just be a matter of mounting it/them and adding power.

Download Qlab on your mac stick video into it and tell it to loop - job done.

see prekiviouse posts about dmx and lasers... it will be ok if you can follow the guidance and safety requirements but not an advised method of control with appropriate estop.

Yes they have become somewhat a collectors item now as they were not many produced.
My guess is they cost too much as they are very good laser, especially being blue, so perfect for weddings.
