Can I make a suggestion regarding the Classic Disco Top 10? From experience I really think there is a need to break it down by approximate tempo, i.e. Slow, mid-tempo and fast.
Roughly this would equate to, in my opinion:
Slow 95-110BPM
Mid 111-125BPM
Fast 126+BPM
So, for example, a top 10+ for slow disco - and I think there's an argument to include some of the bouncier 70s-era R'n'B in this segment, so...
01) BeeGees, the - Stayin' Alive
02) ABBA - Dancing Queen
03) Nolans, the - I'm in the Mood for Dancing
04) Hues Corporation, the - Rock the Boat
05) Real Thing, the - You to Me Are Everything
06) Hot Chocolate - You Sexy Thing
07) Sayer, Leo - You Make Me Feel Like Dancing
08) McCrae, George - Rock Your Baby
09) Dr Hook - Sexy Eyes
10) KC & the Sunshine Band - That's the Way (I Like It)
11) BeeGees, the - Night Fever
12) Gibb, Andy - I Just Want to Be Your Everything
13) White, Barry - It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me (if only for the Robbie Williams tie-through)
Mid-Tempo would be along the lines of (I haven't done this list for myself yet, so I'm makin' it up on the fly):
01) The Jackson 'Blame it on the Boogie'
02) Kool and the Gang 'Celebration'
03) Gaynor, Gloria 'I Will Survive'
04) John Paul Young 'Love is in the Air'
05) Sister Sledge 'We Are Family'
06) Boney M 'Rivers of Babylon' (or Megamix, maybe?)
07) Tavares 'Heaven Must Be Missin' an Angel'
08) Blondie 'Heart of Glass'
09) Summer, Donna 'Hot Stuff'
10) Chic 'Le Freak'
11) Emotions 'Best of My Love'
12) BeeGees, the 'Tragedy'
13) KC & the Sunshine Band 'Get Down Tonight'
14) Jackson, Michael 'Rock With You'
15) Jackson, Michael 'Don't Stop 'til you Get Enough'
16) Lipps, Inc 'Funky Town'
17) KC & the Sunshine Band 'Boogie Shoes'
And Fast:
Anything from The Village People 'YMCA', Earth, Wind & Fire 'Let's Groove' and the Jackson 'Can You Feel it' through to Weather Girls 'It's Rainin' Men', Amii Stewart 'Knock on Wood' and, The Miracles 'Love Machine'.
