Hi All Has anyone heard of Source DJs - Hertfordshire. I had an email from them asking if I would like to join their team.
Any Feedback would be good.

Wouldn't be from a Sarah Dennehey by any chance and badly worded?

Nope, but whoever she is also has websites in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk , Suffolk and Essex.
Looks to be yet another fly by night agency trying to make money off the back of our efforts

This is a scam, they are doing it to lots of areas. They have jumped on to our HDA thing:

Is it a scam?
Or just spam? From a well intentioned company...

I received the email yesterday and asked who it was that told her to email me and how many bookings I could expect from you. Should I pass your "exacting recruitment process".
as yet I have had no reply

And you won't either. Responding to any sort of request seems to be something they're not actually very good at.
Several of us over this way asked questions quite a while back and as yet, have heard nothing from them.
A colleague of mine actually called the Suffolk telephone number....it went through to an automated receptionist service and nothing's been heard since.
As for it being a scam - I can't see that. I can't see how they'd actually manage to "scam" anything out of anyone unless it's a website laden with malware etc (which as the moment it's not).
I think Gavin's on the right lines that it's well intentioned (I'd have chosen a less favourable term because as I see it they're trying to take a cut of money for doing next to nothing), but not working.

Despite the odd spammy approach it does seem like an idea I had when I was running a mini agency. Get good contacts in many areas, market yourself all over and take a cut. Certainly wasn't easy, I used about 10 DJs over a 200 mile radius, very stressful job, wasn't all that well paid. Very hard to make a successful agency, so whilst I'm sure no disrespect was really meant towards agents I'm sure they do just plenty for the money.

No disrespect meant at all....maybe I just worded it wrong.
Those that do it properly, care for their talent and do a good job....no problem at all.
Unfortunately what's happening at the moment (New Year's Eve anyone?) is that people are thinking it's an easy way to cream money off the top of a DJs fee for the sake of taking a few bookings at whatever price and farming them out to A.N.Other DJ willing to work for low money. These are the ones that also take bookings at rock-bottom prices just to secure the gig.
THEY are the "agents" I have a real problem with.
