Whilst there are some good modern songs (Rita Ora "Everything" for example) I have to agree that the overall standard is not as good although we do reminisce about the old days and forget Des O'Connor singing "Dick A Dum Dum".

Selective amnesia, I think it's called, Theo. Just like Summer was always sunnier, through these rose tinted spectacles. You're not wrong though.

I quite like the music from this decade, although I maintain that the best decade for music that I have experienced in the 00s.

And it's the one I find easiest to forget. As Theo says, every decade has good and bad, but my biggest gripe after the plethora of music filled with profanities, is the fact that we no longer get a raft of chart music with a solid 130bpm. Say what you like about Cascada and the like, it got bums off seats.
