Default Now That's What I Call A Playlist.

Friday night in a local Social Club, I was on with a very pleasant and accomplished singer, a true professional. Before he'd finished, I was handed a handwritten list of songs.

    Purple People Eater-Sheb Woolley
The court of King Caractacus-Rolf Harris
    The finger song????????????????????????????????
    Music Man-Black Lace
    Tragedy-Steps
    YMCA-Village People
    Agadoo- Black Lace
    Cotton eyed Joe- Rednex
    Time Warp-Damian
Big Fish, Little Fish-Bob the Builder
    Fast Food Song-Fast Food Rockers
    Star Trekkin'- The Firm
    5,6,7,8.-Steps
    Macarena - Los Del Rio
    Chicken Song-Spitting Image
    Cha Cha Slide- DJ Casper
    Superman-Black Lace
    Conga-Black Lace

Did I wrestle with my conscience as to whether it would compromise my musical integrity to play them all? No dear reader, I played the lot, as well as a few of my own choosing. Packed dancefloor, rapturous reception at end of night, job done. Simples.

Not entirely sure what I'd call it. I don't think it would be complementary.

I'd call that Pure Cheese with a side helping of Party dances. The Finger song is a Rik and Nik creation. There's a few versions around including the "Highland Mix" which is a bit faster again...

I would hate a gig like that. I can't stand party dances and people who have no musical taste. Its also usually always on my clients list as do not play which is always nice. I occasionally get one from my residency that want lots of those tracks, which is fine as i don't choose the client and vice verser.

I am happy to leave that to other DJ's as its clear on my website that is not what we do.

And what exactly do people like who have no musical taste then Toby and who makes you the judge of taste?

Statements like that do make me laugh!

I see it as my job to give the client what they want. Any family-friendly song is acceptable and adult-only tracks will get played in the right environment.

If someone wanted a party dance then I'd be more that happy to play it. I do this job to make people happy and this is a really easy way to achieve this!
