A quick introduction
Hi There,
My name is Jacob and I am based in Bristol. I started DJing when I was only 12 years old. I started by providing kids discos for friends and family. Since then I concentrated on spending all of the money I earnt into new equipment and building a good reputation for my business. In 2015 I felt confident enough to officially establish my business, having almost 3 year experience providing discos and entertainment to friends and family. I created a website, decided on how much I was going to charge and started doing gigs around Bristol. Now I provide quality entertainment services for many types of functions including Kids Parties, Teen Discos, Birthdays, Seasonal Events, School Discos & Proms.
My current kit list is:
Sound:
2x Alto TS115A Speakers
Numark CM200 Mixer
Numark Mixtrack Platinum Controller
W-Audio DTM 800H UHF Wireless Mics
Kam KWM 11 VHF Wireless Mics
Laptop Running Virtual DJ 2018
Lighting:
1x ADJ Mystic LED
1x Chauvet Vue III
2x Showtec Sunraise LED
2x Cue Lighting Mini Spot Moving Heads
2x Acme Cougars
6x RGBW Pars
1x VIVID V1 Fog Machine
DMX:
Eurolite DMX 512 Pro Interface
FreeStyler x2 Software
AKAI APC Mini Midi Controller
Stands/Miscellaneous:
4ft Deck Stand
Equinox DJ Screen/Facade (White)
Giraffe Heavy Duty Lighting Stand (T-Bar)
6x Speaker Stands
2x Single Sided Scrims
2x Double Sided Scrims
Aside from DJing I enjoy computers, I.T and lighting. I have a very good knowledge and experience with Windows, I.T Networking, Windows Server and Computer Hardware. Currently in 2018, I attend college and I am studying Level 3 Technical Theatre. I have just finished my 1st year (2 in total) and I received a Distinction. I am very confident with DMX, lighting fixtures and Several lighting consoles/software. I also have good knowledge of sound and A.V. I looking forward with meeting fellow DJs and Thanks for reading

I second that, best I've seen yet, reminds me a bit of Charlie Brown, out in front of the booth, joining in and encouraging the kids.

Looks like you've made a good start, and are building on it, well done.

Thanks! I always try to get the all kids involved and adults involved whenever possible. I've found that when they don't get involved, it's usually that they're just nervous and just need a confidence boost. When I interact with them they usually will join in. If that doesn't work then the magic word 'PRIZES' always gets them joining in

I suspect you learned a lot about the things you shouldn't do too
Anyway, welcome - there's lots of people here who have a lot more experience and a lot more useful stuff to say than on certain Facebook groups.

How could I forget! I've definitely learned lots and got inspiration from You and Chaz, watching and shadowing you guys at Stockwood Community Centre. Definitely would not of got where I am today without you guys. Thanks for your help and passing NSCA Family Night on to me From what I've seen so far MDD already looks like a more useful place than those certain Facebook groups, so I'm glad I came across it.

As a source of knowledge, Facebook leaves a lot to be desired. Full of folk with inflated egos, and closed minds.

Welcome, from someone else who started at 12 and is now 60, so there's a long career ahead if you choose it.
