    A few for the pot

Dave Brubeck - Take Five [probably the best known late50s Jazz instro]
Lee Morgan - The Sidewinder [ an instro that is known - but not the title ] - about 10 mins long
Grover Washington - Mr Magic [ Sax led early Jazz/Funk]
    John Handy - Hard Work [ 1975 handclappy jazz/funk ]
Jimmy Smith - Back at the Chicken Shack [ hammond groove ]
Louis Armstrong - Mack the Knife [ the definitive version imho ]
Astrid gilberto - girl from Ipenima
John Coltrane - Blue Train [ make sure you're comftorable with this 10 min epic - sax can grate a bit]

mostly good for background music to get toes tapping amongst a slightly older crowd

+1. I also like Sinatra's version where he name-checks all the guys in the band. And it was a big band!

Did you know that the reference to "Lotte Lenya" that many versions now use was a just vamp by Satchmo because she (Lotte - an ?actress?) was in the recording studio with him at the time?
The name wasn't, I believe, in Brecht's orginal lyric.

Sheesh. The useless shizzle I know.
