Any CD rippers that don't use freedb other than media monkey ?

    Freedb is now unavailable unfortunately.

Thanks that one works I'm surprised all the ones I tried relied on freedb but it looks like that's ended now , I was 90% through re-ripping all of my music.

Freedb has been the go to database for over 2 years. I'm kind of surprised it's been wound up.

If I'm honest though, I'm also surprised that anyone has any CDs....

All my rips and down loads were done a few years ago were 160,190 or latterly 256 but having a bit of time on my hands recently and a new laptop that seems to rip much better quality I decided to re do them all at 320 that makes a difference for sure.

I had a feeling you were going to say that I originally ripped at 192kbps and I've been considering doing the same. Except I have 900+ CD's so instead I've been slowly buying specific songs that I use a lot as .wav's instead. As you say, you can hear the difference

It's well worth it although I'd hate to think of how much time I've spent putting my music library together , not just ripping but categorising as well , I meant to say mine had been done at 160,192 & 224 , all done now at 320 thanks for the ripper suggestion it works well.

I forgot to mention, the few CD's I have ripped recently, I've ripped as flac. Roughly 10-15mb per track, totally lossless and VDJ doesn't seem to have any issues with them. I can't vouch for compatibility with Traktor, Serato or any other program though.
