    Default Something a bit different

I had a Bride & Groom over the weekend who, for their first dance, wanted to transition from Sam Smith's acoustic version of Latch to Ain't Giving Up On You by Craig David.

Musically, this was going to be a difficult transition, and slamming one after the other was never going to work. I also really didn't want to the 'wind down' or 'spin back' shtick. I wanted to do something different.

And I did. I didn't tell the clients what I had done until I rocked up on the night, as I had story boarded in my head how it would go down, and I was afraid that they wouldn't if I sent over the audio file for them to review. Content without context is meaningless. Leaving it until just before I started allowed me to explain my vision, and they loved the idea.

How did it turn out? Well...

Very rarely, I see things executed that make my hairs stand up on end - and this did it.

Brilliantly executed. Nice work on that.

Of course you could just have played that horrible Sam Smith song at 300bpm then smashed it right into Craig David like nobodies business

Thanks, guys. It was nice to do something unique. Hopefully that'll be a happy memory for the clients for a long time.

The best I've ever seen or heard! But that's you all over Benny & always has been.

Not only was the audio sorted, but the lights took part in the story too.

    Reeeeeeeeeee-speck that man!

I really shouldn't say stuff like that I'm too old

I'm sure I saw a big dance DJ do something like this with visuals too of the windows crashing. I can't for love nor money remember who it was.

    EDit, found it!
