Default What is your end of night closing song?

So, what is your most asked for closing song at the end of the night? New York, New York perhaps?

Twenty years ago, maybe. Nowadays, Wonderwall, or Don't Look Back In Anger.

Depends if the happy couple have stipulated a specific last song of the night or not.

In general, it's a happy, upbeat, hands held aloft type of ditty such as Mr Brightside or DJ Otzi's version of Sweet Caroline from this end. Haven't played NYNY for absolutely YEARS.

    Depends on the crowd.

NYNY is usually for older couples and crowds for me.

I was asked for New York, New York as a final song on Saturday. I followed it with a final wind down.......

I'm in the mood for dancing
    Reach for the stars
    I'm gonna be 500 miles
    New York New York
    Happy Days

In that order, not always sometimes it's completely different but that's my tried and tested ending.

I'll let you know about five minutes before I play it. Will have to see how the preceding few hours go first.

Edit: I misread the original post. I rarely get asked for specific final songs for the night, to the point where I can't recall any examples. Sometimes I get asked what I do play and I always give the same response as above.

My most often requested is as I stated, something from the Oasis catalogue.

However, my last song of choice is: exactly the same as Benny's.
On occasion it has been Darude-Sandstorm ( best night ever that one ), Pretty Green Eyes, or other tracks over 130-140bpm. I now try to make it a sing along/Anthem, whatever it is.

There was a time when the last few songs of the night were likely to be:
    Brown Eyed Girl
    Mustang Sally
    Sweet Caroline ( N Diamond )
    Daydream Believer ( Monkees ).

Nowadays, Sweet Caroline has been requested six times before 8pm, so that's out the window! I rarely get the chance for such an ordered end.

Very rarely do I get asked for the same "ending song" - and I can't think of the last time I had New York, New York.

Here are the last 3 requested last songs...

Bon Jovi - Livin On a Prayer

Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free

    Andreas Gabalier - Hulapalu

I should have said "over" 20 years old.
