Default What gear did you forget to take to a gig?

What's the most important piece of equipment you've accidentally forgotten to take to a gig? and how did you get around the problem?

In my case, the only thing I forgot to take once was a t bar for my lighting. I just put the lights on the floor, so I got away with it.

I know one guy who probably has an IQ lower than his shoe size...as he once forgot to take his SPEAKERS to a gig, doh!

I forgot my headphones once. I just plugged the spare mic into the headphone socket, ducked down out of sight and put the mic to my ear to cue up the songs. Luckily the 'wife' arrived with my headphones and saved the day (night).

More commonly I forget things like spare lamps and batteries.

My main 7" singles box (this was in 1985). I never got over it, try doing an
    18th b'day gig on 50's, 60's & 70's tunes only. The gig was 70miles from home!

I forgot my gels bag one time when we were doing the local private school's prom.

Ouch, these were the days when I gelled the colours venue type/event type depending. Got them sent over with about 5 minutes to spare.

Shaun...why don't you have an odd-job box like me - containing things like a request pad & pens, screwdrivers, fuses, lamps, batteries etc?

I forgot my headphones once, but I had enough time (just) to race home and grab 'em. Fortunately the plod were dozing

I once got a last minute phone call for a gig that hadn't been booked properly thanks to the boss and hurtled over to his place, grabbed the gear and hurtled up north (45 minute drive). I was about two thirds of the way there when I realised I'd forgotten the amp Needless to say I arrived to tumbleweeds on the dancefloor.

    Speaker leads!!!!!

Got to the venue which was over an hour from my home, set up only to find that I had left the speaker leads at home!!!! arrrgggggghhhhhhhh

I had been sorting out my equipment out the day before splitting it into 2 sets = Adults party and children's party but forgot to split the speaker leads and had left both sets in the adult box!!!!!

To cut a long story short and after a few very frantic calls to Darren at Solitaire he saved the day by rushing a spare set over to me.

I will never forget that Darren mate and I thank you again.

    best regards all
