    Default Censoring Filter

So Shaun etc have been moaning about swearing recently - fine.

So rather than deleting posts or editing them, why not customise the censor. It picks out some words, it also picks out words it shouldn't do a bit like Moby Di ck, and D@mn, that even Corabar Steve uses the @ to get around it.

I've noticed it doesn't pick up the blood y word either.

So rather than spending your life editing, deleting and thus having to moan, setup vBulliten to do it for you.

As I'm sure like you (the admin team) are getting bored of the swearing issue, we are too.

There wouldn't be an issue if people would just follow the rules. This is a family orientated forum, there should be absolutely no need for anyone to be swearing in their posts.

Hold on a sec! Bloody is not a swear word as it reffers to 'bloody mary' if anyone bothered to look into english history

I am totally against bad language. There is no need for it. It shows the person using it as silly and unable to express themselves properly without misappropriate expletives. I agree with Shaun - just dont do it! As for the word which you refer to Miskin it is one of the less serious words but it is still an unneccessary expletive and when I was young (a long time ago) was very much a word you did not use. However; I was amazed a few months back when the moderators objected to me using the word content removed on this forum. I wonder if I will get edited again? Maybe I should upset the mods even more and spell content removed!

    Content removed.

The problem isn't that it's a swear word. Hopefully the clarification below will be self explanitory.

    19. Posts relating to the following subjects are not permitted (whether in writing or image-related): Drugs, sex, pornography, excessive violence and other related or similar topics are prohibited. MDD strives to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere.
Any discussions relating to anything sexual in nature, isn't permitted, which is why the word was removed from your posts previously. I've removed them again, as I'd hate to be called inconsistent.

Perhaps thats because the word is to do with sexual preferances

Your consistency has been noted!! Thanks for the explanation. I shall try not to mention that medical term for self gratification of a sexual nature again - although I still think your interpretation is a little severe. Anyway back on topic - stop swearing the rest of you!

The forum is viewable to minors, as such, any mention of sexual activity (whether the word is a medical term or not) cannot be allowed. What's severe about that?

Well it's clear that people arn't always going to follow the rules, and I would say that has been made clear!

Wether or not anyone thinks it's suitable or a need to do it etc etc, they still do. Now personally I don't remember the last time i wrote a swear word on this forum, so this doesn't affect me directly. I'm just bored of hearing AND seeing moans etc - Which I'm sure you guys are sick and tired of giving out too.

So make life easier for yourself and edit the censor so it works properly! Why make life harder for yourself? It's complete stupidity to dismiss a valid suggestion to resolve an forum issue, simply by saying "well they shouldn't do it anyway".

    Come on guys!

Disclaimer: This post is on complete neutral ground, and should not be taken as insult to anyone personally or to the forum itself.
