i dont really understand about amps and that if i had 1000w what will speakers have to be i want to set up a disco and i rushed out and got 500 w sound lab powered mixer and 2 peavey eurosys 3 speakers and 2 eurosys 2 speakers but dont think will be good enought

Having posted here, we're all reading it, so any of us are likely to reply. Once you have read a few replies you will see who is on your wavelength.

Can you give is the model of the powered mixer and th power ratings of the speakers. Will probably run them, but sounds liek a strange setup.

it will be fine to run the eurosys off the mixer im guessing 2 x 250 rms into 4 ohm so be around the 150 mark rms into 8 so it should cope fine, dont run the eurosys 2 off it at the same time as you will be under powering both cabs really not a good idea to under power low wattage cabs as you will wont to push them really hard!

If they are 150rms into 8ohm, the amp will be a bit underpowered and you may well have problems with clipping, sending a distorted signal to the speakers which could in the long term damage them.

If the amp is 250rms into 4ohm, then you will be OK. But don't run both pairs at the same time.

Neither. It will work. Just offering my opinion. Don't think there is a wrong or a right. My opinion is that it would be underpowered if the amp is 150rms into 8 ohm.

Yes. Get an amp to match the 3's and run the 2's off the mixer. Feed the second amp with the line/rec/out from the mixer. ( There should be something similar on there).

i like to run my speakers 1-2 x the rms rating but not always possible from the different configuration of different events:mad:

I tend to agree with you about that. There will be a terrible temptation to wind up the volume control to the max, which is a recipe for trouble.
