I know some on here use JTS, and every review I have seen rates them highly. What I don't know is where in the range this model fits. I have previously seen JTS radio mics nearer £250, so is this one a lower spec model. It does seem almost too cheap. I shall soon be looking for a better Radio Mic, and the two main ( nay essential) criteria are:
Good signal acquisition, no " Norman Collier " please.:D

Good feedback rejection, I'm getting sick of this one ( actually I'm getting sick of Singers with a SM58 showing how theirs is better than mine! )

All views/opinions/beliefs/facts gratefully taken into account. ;)

Neverused JTS, but I think Crazy K uses one and is pleased.

I've always had VHF and UHF SM58s, so can't really comment on others. Oh, and I've got a pair of UHF PG58s too. I think they were about £160 each and are pretty good. No Norman Collier with them. They aren't quite as good as the SMs on top end, but still very good clarity.

Indeed it is, but in the last scenario, my AT was virtually unusable because of feedback in so many areas, and the SM58 never whistled once, under almost identical speaker placement. :o

Well, if you will buy rubbish...:boxer2:

The SMs do feedback if you (or a dozy client) wave them about infront of an HF unit, but otherwise seem pretty good.

Hi this is quite interesting. This is my take --but check elsewhere because im not completely sure.

I have the JTS Mh850 transmitter ( hand held mike) and the US 8001D PLL SINGLE CHANNEL Diversity receiver.

I talk all night with it and I love it--in my job you have to.

It doesnt eat batteries like the Shure SM:eek:

Now the really interesting bit for you--

If you go to the JTS website--- www.jts.com.tw

you will see that the Mh700 is not shown--so I dont know if its discontinued?

My Mh850 is STILL CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION.

The main point is you appear to be buying a radio mike with one FIXED frequency.

Mine has 16 variables so if by chance the DJ in the room next door is using the same frequency I can change mine---if he has the same as the unit you are looking to buy :eek: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

You cant change it ---but he might be able to if he has varied frequencies.

Couple of months ago I shared a Wedding with a DJ--we each used separate equipment because he only had TWO INPUTS---stop laughing please:rolleyes:

I couldnt work out why every time he spoke my Radio Mike Receiver started flashing--now I know--he had the same frequency as me--the good news was we didnt speak at the same time so there was no "taxi talk"

COURSE I COULD HAVE CHANGED MY FREQUENCY--DONT THINK YOU COULD WITH THIS UNIT ON E BAY.

So the bad news is you might have a problem with that--the good news is I only paid £185 for my JTS set up 2 years ago and I reckon you would now get a cheaper deal.

I AGREE WITH THE AD--THE QUALITY FOR THE PRICE IS EXCELLENT

If anyone thinks this is rubbish let me know:D

We've had this conversation on here many a time - if you use decent Duracell 9V batteries and take them out of the barrel everytime you use them, they should last up to 18 hours of talk time. This is if you turn them off in between uses and not leave it on standby.

I'll bow to your greater knowledge on the JTS Al. ;)

Thanks for that reply, Alan. It seems to confirm what I guessed, which is that it is lower end of the scale. The fact that there are nine models above it also points this way, as it appears bigger the number, better the mic. I think I will look around for a while longer.

I seem to remember Theo mentioning he didnt get much battery life out of his Shure Radio Mike ????

I dont think you need go beyond the Mh 850 for decent quality.

Possibly the higher numbers give more options than quality.

No feedback problems--I spend a lot of time in FRONT of my speakers --no problem providing you get the eq and volume right.

If you want the very best ( which you probably dont) then im told Sennheiser is the one to buy---but clearly you will be paying quite a lot more-

Related to this im looking at a headset mikes again which have a reputation for poor quality and general clarity/ feedback I have been advised again that Sennheiser are the answer--Clive mentioned this to me a few weeks ago.

I tried JTS and Shure headsets and was not happy with the top end response.

Probably 'cos he didn't take the battery out!

If you leave the battery in the mic, you get a kind of bleed effect where the battery is being used all the time, therefore less talk time.

I'm not quite sure what you mean about wear and tear? I had an SM58 that lasted me 15 years taking the battery out everytime I worked!
