i want to get some proper dmx leads not mic leads anyone know where i can get some 0.5 meter leads looking on the net i can only find 1.5 meter or come to think of it 1 meter might better

Mic leads will do exactly the same job for your purposes - 0.5m?? You could use a piece of string for a cable run as short as that! :D

Apart from they are not as shielded.

theres a place down town (Sheerness) called Hagars and you can go in there pick what leads you want and they cut of the correct amount you want. and then you just buy the DMX XLR connections and put them on. i think they put them on for you for free if you ask. http://www.hagars.biz/
