Looking at smoke/haze machines, but not sure whether worth getting because of usual usage probs.

Anyone tried this spraysmoke (http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ITAG=FAQ&ModuleNo=20746&doy=14m12#faq)

Prob just have to get a can and try it, but wondered if anyone else had any comments?

I once got a can on the way to a booking as my usual smoke machine had packed up. It cost about a fiver, and to be fair, it wasn't that bad!
If nothing else, it highlighted the beams of light around my stand, but it doesn't really spread much. I don't think it would be much use in a large venue.
The can claimed it would spray for 5 mins (not all in one go) which was probably about right.
Also, I seem to remember it left a bit of a residue similar to a greasy feel.

You do get some strange looks from people who probably think you're trying to get rid of a bad smell, of kill a fly.

I always carry a can of it but don’t use it very often as already stated it does give a good effect around your lights but doesn’t stay in the air that long and it does leave a greasy feel to your lights for a fiver try it. Unless you spray it directly into a smoke detector it will not set one off as it would take a lot of cans to fill a room with smoke

I used it for the second time tonight ( i thought that maby last week the hase was drifting out of the open door at the end of the room), but i dont think that i will use it again, unless i was doing a gig in a lift.
lets say it does not do what is says on the tin.

I bought a box of these as they were "shop soiled" at my local craplins store.

Waste of money, Tried one at a hotel gig and it set off the bloomin fire alarms:whistle:

so after that, and the terrible smell and sticky residue it left behind, they went on fleabay..............

sticking to the hazer me thinks!
