Anyone worked with a magician?

Hi all,

did this gig last night for a good cause, kids and staff from a local hospital. anyway they had this close up magician, with his band of supporters, (camera man, sound man, etc.), Anyway, the organiser asked us to turn the music down low, as and Get This [The magician has to concentrate, as he's playing mind games, and the music distracts him!!!!].
Well we turned it down where you could hardly hear anything, next thing, the magician was working a table next to us, and one of his hangers on, came over and asked if we could turn the sound off, as they couldnt film, with sound etc.

So, we turned it off, and this is the funny bit. The magician moved to another table, there was no sound at all, and his hanger on came over and said to me.....You can turn the sound off now:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

All I cound do was laugh, some people, I dont know.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

hahaha! the magician can hear your CD's without them playing. lol :D

as long as you raised a good amount of money thats th main thing.

oh yes I've had this at about 5-6 different gigs over the years I've been working, mainly from wedding receptions in conflict between the bride and her request and the grooms mum and what SHE wants to her, etc etc, so you can be playing something special and then she comes along and then sort of says turn this off know and play this (what she wants) just does my head in but theres always a payment at the end so i don't really bother arguing

I've worked with loads of magicians but I have to say I have never had this problem. Sounds like he was a right prima dona.

Did they tell which track to turn off!!!!

I worked with a magician a few years ago that made my free meal disapear..........................................
