I have waited long enough! So as the Chauvet Vue 3 is essentially the same as the Acme ImpossibLED (also the American DJ Revo III), I have sourced one of those, arrived yesterday.
Doesn't have the LED display on the back for the DMX settings, however compare and contrast, O ye cynics: (Lots of ImpossibLED videos around!)

Anyhow, THESE GUYS (http://www.ebdj.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?product_id=13510) had one in stock as of last night - and are getting 20 more next week - better than the January availability for the ImpossibLED if you want one for NYE.
Want a flight case to go with that...?

And here's the final proof - that (a) I really have got one and (b) it really does fit in!

Good looking effect, but I didn't realise they were that big.

they are big ..... but there is nothing to them , they are only that big to accomodate the enormous optic that is needed to get the effect. I have 2 and they fill a big venue on their own.

These look amazing, and for the money you cant go wrong...
Two quick questions though....
1)How do these hang off truss /goalpost stand?
2)Just how bright are these in reality? Comparable to say a 150w or 250w ELC?
I`m tempted.....!

here is a brief comparison my rig as it was .... with 3 ishow 3s on the dancefloor and as it is now with 2 impossibleds and a mirrorball.
both photos were taken at the same venue.
and one to try and give an indication of brightness

I bought a couple of those cases too, but put mine in longways rather than the way you are doing it and they fit really snugly.

I've been looking on Youtube at all the comparision videos...I wanna try and get the American DJ Revo 3 versions as they look the best version and are smaller in size...anyone know where I can get them?
Let us know what you think of the LED lights when you have used them more/ long term review

I saw the american DJ stuff at BPM and to be honest it really didnt look that bright to me .....infact changed my mind right off LED units .
It wasn't until the video of the impossibled was posted that I was reconverted.
Strange as they are basically the same light but just what I thought.
I used mine last night and was well pleased, So I am more than confident enough to use them for a massive corprate do at Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel Tonight witht two moving heads.
