i just keep my EQ flat. Only fiddle with it to suit the room acoustics.

A lot of it will be down to your speakers, your own personal preferences and the accoustics of each room where you work...which will vary a lot.

Generally speaking, I tend to have the middle fader on 0 (in the middle), the far left & far right ones about half way to two thirds of the way between 0 and maximum, and the others somewhere between the two...so you end up with the eq faders making a kind of wide v shape.

Having said this, I always use the mixer eq to boost the bass a bit, as I only have 12" speakers & don't use subs.

Hope this helps.

I had a gig on thursday and a gig on friday and i changed the eq completely for each gig.

I just set it by ear, so there is a nice punchy bass and the top end pushes through but without being too abrasive. etc etc.

As its only a 7 channel eq i would leave it flat and ajust it when needed on the night.

But if you want to get the best out of your speakers i would say buy a rackmount eq. best of you get one over 15 channels.
