Hey all,
Had a busy week by my standards, with one thursday and one friday (only 12 teenage girls).

But on both occations i began the gig as usual, running my masters about half way.

By an hour later i was getting on to be at full power (not ideal but i am underpowered at the moment).

It seemed though that by the last hour i was running at less power than in the middle but it still felt as loud.

This happened both nights.

Could this just be my ears messing around or do amps/speaker coils take an hour or so to warm up fully (i always run for 15mins ish at low volume to warm them slightly).

Not sure what you are on about warming up the voice coils.

Heat is your enemy when talking about voice coils.

As far as I kniow mosfet type amps which are now the most common run less effeciently when warm. However when a mosfet overheats it reduces the power output to help cooling. So if your cooling fans where maybe not coming on midway but then came on toward the end to help ooling this 'may' have this effect.
If this is the case (and I know it is not very common) then using a force cooling fan on your amp may solve the problem.

P.S sometimes there are less people towards the end of the gig ( all gone to bar or just left early) so less bodies to absorbe sound ie less power needed

Its not a big difference, and the amp is working fine, its was just that i found myself runing the master a lot lower by the end of the gig.

Might have just been my ears or something like that. I just wondered whether there was something like that where the output increases as the amp warms, but it seems to be the other way round. Strange.

IMHO You tend to run everything flat out about threequarters of the way through the gig, and ease back in the wind down. Just my opinion.
