At this time every year we seem to have a thread asking how quiet things are for January. They are usually quiet which is why I always go off on holiday somewhere sunny but the last few years have been full of gigs. This year, however, I do not have a single gig in January. February is filling up quite well though and I still have the three line dance sessions every week thank goodness. How is it with everyone else this year?

January isn't looking too bad for me. 6 gigs to do personally, plus another couple that I've given out. February is dead though, only one booking!

Hi Theo, I had 4 Barn Dances for January, one now cancelled, which is par for the course--
I always disappear mid February for a 2 week holiday to somewhere really hot, as thats usually MY quiet month--only got one booked in Feb.
I think with a recession looming it might be a bit tough out there next year--as Dave says especially on prices.

I have one gig in January - a 50th birthday party.
This is pretty normal, as my busy months are from April/May through until September/October...when I do a wedding virtually every weekend.

Very quiet here Theo. We are actually going to a wedding on the 5th January as guests, but the rest of the month is very, very quiet.

I don't have any private bookings apart from 1 wedding but I do have my usual stuff every friday and saturday.
At the moment, June, July and August are chocka and I have 22 weddings booked throughout the year so far.

Private bookings, its 3 for me, plus I've got 2 pub res's a week, so 11 for the month. Don't think I'm going to be able to escape the country until about May :bang:

But back on topic... Things aren't too bad for me - i have the saturdays covered and a few other bits and bobs during the week days so not too bad really... But as most have said so far Feb is dead... Hopefully that will change soon.

When you have a dad in hospital critical and a teenage son out on the town it's difficult to ignore the phone at any time of the night!!

A separate phone line or ring would be in order then.
