I've had a day of diary transfer, double checking with booking contracts and triple checking with the PC and now I'm all up to date in that department.

Still got 2 years of VAT receipts to go through, but that starts Monday. :(

I'm completely up to date, although to be honest I always am.

No need to worry about VAT though...coz I don't earn anywhere near enough!

It's easy to keep on top of things when you're a one man band and have your daytimes free.

Not really, I only got a diary a couple of days ago and should have had it all done by the end of last year really. I'm just pleased that it's all done now. Alright then, slightly smug....:p

How come? (on the basis VAT returns are completed quarterly and accounts filed annually)

Had flu and that virus going around started just after my last christmas gig so getting a bit behind. Top it all my accounts program crashed so havent cought up with that yet as well. Sigh*
Got a wallet full of receipts to file and can't do it until I fix the program.

My accountant went and died, which I thought was very inconsiderate of him.

So I've got a few weeks to sort out my shoebox of receipts, do some quick spreadsheets and then find a new accountant....so no, I'm not up to date at all :(

Funnily enough I got through quite a bit of paperwork today aswell.. the post seemed to bring loads of booking forms I was waiting for and had plenty of email enquirys to respond to aswell.

Plus I had a gig tonight, and one tommorow, and Sunday.. oh, and Monday too! And January is supposed to be quiet!

I registered in November, so my first return is the end of January, but I have the previous 3 years worth of receipts to sort out to claim VAT back on (items still in stock etc) and have already done one year, so that leaves two.

I remember that from 10 years ago Daz, it is a very nice "one-off" c/o HMRC. Shame it is just that, a "one off" :)
