Hi,
I was just wondering if there was a quick way to name mp3s?

At present I right click the file and then click rename. The problem with this is that windows media player etc doesn't recognise it, you have to go into the properties of the mp3 file and change the name there.

It's a long and labourious task, just wondering if there's a faster way?

Thanks

The first way you are attempting to do it is only renaming the file name. You need to rename the ID3 tags. Best done when ripping, otherwise you will need an ID3 tag editor. Loads available on the net, just try a few out. Everyone has his/her favorites

Tag & Rename seems to be the favourite

I am a proud user of Tag & Rename, one of the best programs that i have used for this purpose and only £12 to buy too. Can't beat it.

I use fixtunes , its a great program fills in meta data and renames all files to your chosen format. Cost about £10 if i remember.
