Try running several of the online price grabbers like Confused.com, Compare.com and a few of the others.

Use the screenscrapers like confused.com to narrow it down to 3 or 4, then check Quidco for cashback deals.
I was going to go with a nobrand until Quidco did £130 cashback on a Prudential policy making them about £80 cheaper AND they threw in free breakdown cover :)

My insurance is through a broker called 'Aquote'. Someone here on the forum recommended them to me, and they've given me the cheapest quote 2 years running.
Shopping for insurance...it's a nightmare task! Good luck with your search. :)

I got mine through Direct Line, who don't take part in any of the comparison sites, and was pleasantly surprised that the price hardly changed after I mentioned I was a Mobile DJ.
