Would all members please take the time to familiarise themselves with 3 of the buttons on the bottom right of their posts.
Edit: Please use this to edit your posts rather than repeating yourself or posting again straight after your previous post. If you want to add something & nobody has posted since you did (within a 10 minute timescale. Posts made 10 or more minutes apart are acceptable)
Quote: For when you wish to reference something somebody has posted in your post. You can edit their bit down to just the relevant information rather than quoting the whole post too :sj:. If you do this make sure all the [] & / are in place otherwise you will get something like.....

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I often have a problem with the multi-quote feature not working.
I sometimes click on several posts to multi-quote, but when I click on post reply, only one of them comes up!
Weird!

I guess there must be forum gremlins at work somewhere.

But it often DOESN'T work for me.
I don't understand it, as I have a state of the art computer from ebay... running Windows 98 with 128 ram & a 4 gig hard drive.

Since no-one else has pointed this out, and since we now have a pedants forum, are we not in a " Dear Pot, Love Kettle " situation here, as a certain member has now posted consecutive posts, rather than editing the penultimate one ? ( unless someone has deleted one, in which case I'm in real trouble  )

No, but the posts were not immediately after each other - they were days apart.

No, but the posts were not immediately after each other - they were days apart.
But there are no intervening posts, therefore my post is valid, surely. I see no difference between two minutes and two days in that respect, although I can of course see the line of reasoning.
Edit: Does Steve's wording here support my theory?
If you want to add something & nobody has posted since you did.

Having just read the rest of the post, I think possibly that Steve was being slightly tongue in cheek when he posted that.
And don't forget rule 27.

But the second post quotes the first post and is therefore amusing since both post and quote are by the same individual - merely writing as two consecutive lines would've been dull and uninspired.

May I add that if Steve had merged posts, it would not have shown as a 'new' post, and therefore wouldn't have served as an 'update' or 'reminder' post, as I think he had intended it to.
Corabar Steve

The fact that they were a week apart & people will have read the previous post renders that part inapplicable, & as mentioned, if I had just edited the previous post it would not have shown up as a new post & nobody would know it was there.
Previous posts edited for the sake of clarity
