Clubdj pro software

After testing various programs for my laptop I finally found this to be the one I found most intuitive and easy to use. Is anyone else using it? If so I wonder if you can help me with a couple of probs....

1. Major downside of the software for me is the fact I can't link keys F2 etc to functions Eg. play, pause. Any way of doing this?

2. When a loaded track is repeated within either player A or B the second play has audible deteriation in sound quality, the sound goes further downhill if I play it a third time without reloading into the player. Not usually a problem I know, as most tracks will only be played once, but I host practice nights for artists using backing tracks who need repeat plays and I find myself using Media Player in these instances to avoid the problem. Thought it may be my laptop that was the problem but it does the same on the household system.

Any help appreciated.

Sounds like cheap software and bad coding. Go for a more respectable brand like tractor or pcdj.

Are you sure the shortcuts are not programmed into other keys, i know on pcdj they are already set and they cant be changed to other keys

None of the functions seem to be coded to any keys. I think I'll have a look at some of the software packages you guys advise and see what i think. Didn't realise Clubdj pro was so scarce! Thanks y'all.

Very strange that there are no keyboard shortcuts. I thought every program at least had a few :eek:

:agree: PCDJ is a bit of an industry standard type package. In a similar way MS Office is. There are lots of alternatives, but one tends to standout. PCDJ (especially the new version) is a good all rounder, it is probably the best basic playout system, in the way it emulates a twin CD Player, it's exactly like using an on-screen denon DN2000F:D
But with the more comprehensive versions, it suits the needs of those who mix and like to play with effects and looping.
What it lacks is stuff that is gimicky that doesn't do anything useful or things that would be horribly inappropriate in a live DJ environment.

Nah Simon - you've not bored anyone.

I was the same myself - tried umpteen packages, Sam, OTS, etc, and just settled on PCDJ as it offered a very simple playout system that made me feel I had 4 players (2 CD, 2 PC) at my disposal.

More than happy with the older versions (started with Blue, now on the original 5.* Red from local emporium) and run it on an older but stable machine and only had one hiccup in about 3 years.

Testing a copy of pcdj red now - one feature I can't find, is it possible to fade out a track early and bring the next one in using an automatic crossfader. Can't seem to crack an effective way of smoothly making an early transition beween tracks. Probably missing something simple. Thanks for all the help so far, much appreciated.

I use pcdj fx on an older machine 2003 ish i think and no problems with it , i have been thinking about upgrading to pcdj vj , but to be honest at the moment am of the opinion if it isn't broken , don't fix it .... i dont do karaoke or use videos so that aspect is not needed to be honest the only reason i want to have a go with it is to play with the auto beat mix facility which fx doesnt have. not really a good enough reason yet to change.

ive not tried any other software really but got a basic version of mixmiester which i also enjoyed playing with.

top left of the recordcase, you have play & shuffle. just hit play! You can configure the timings in the config screen.
I think that's what you mean.......

It won't beatmix or do anything clever like that, it's just a basic crossfade bit like wmp & itunes can do, only better.
I think PCDJFX can do beat mixing.

No, there isn't.

Can you not just use your mixer to do that?

It looks like I'll have to if I use PCDJ. Bit of an odd set up I have, as the disco is kind of tagged on to the band I play in, so the laptop is simply plugged into the two balanced inputs on one of the Aux channels. The mixer is set up for the band and I like to leave the settings alone as much as poss and use the laptops functions instead for the disco sections. I'll keep looking!
