Sorry if this has been done before, but over the last couple of nights I've noticed I've picked up email enquiries very late into the night.
Last night I had two within minutes of each other between 10.30pm -11.30pm and again tonight I had a couple between 9-10pm (although one was another DJ wanting to exchange, so he got the NADJ spiel :D )
Does anyone ever get phone enquiries at this time? Is this another advantage of having a website?

I've noticed a trend with late night web enquiries too. They always seem surprised when they get a quick reply too. All in all it's a good thing. Luckily I've never received a late phone call.

Yep. 9pm - 11pm is a popular browsing time - have you seen the TV schedules lately? :D
Latest (earliest?) telephone enquiry I ever received was 2:30am - guy was calling from Oz (ex-pat planning a coming home party) and had 'miscalculated' :o Didn't get the gig

I get those too on Fridays and Saturdays.. they must be suprised to see I replied at gone 3 in the morning!
i have had a few aswell.
i even had a kid ask for a request for a 16th birthday party. gave him the quote and havent heard from him since.
i try to reply to the emails as quick as possible. i have an auto reply on my emails just to let the client know that the email has been received and that i will contact them shortly.
never had a late night call. if its too late then i wont take it.

I was going to say yes the same but looking back at previous emails, it seems to be a split of either weekday afternoons 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm (maybe at work or working from home) or any time in the week 9:30pm - 11:00pm.

will only answer the phone during business hours, unless its an existing client with an emergency. Will definitely answer emails in the middle of the night though.
Also clients always ring on a fri / sat at about 7 when im setting up!

Same here.
Mine always get a reply well within 6 hours (apart from Saturday nights).
This has got me a number of bookings which I would otherwise have lost.

same here .... ive woken up 3 days this week to find 2 or more enquiries although not confirmed 6 booking packs have gone out since Saturday. :D :D
and another one today. A quick response doesnt always do the job but it really helps ....... unless of course which has happened on a couple of occasions the guy that takes a week to reply only charges £50 ..... then apparently how quick and thorough and professional you are in your approach seems to disappear into irrelevance .

I have had several late phone calls recently....I mean would you call say a decorator at 10.00 pm to enquire about doing a job in 6 months time?

I suspect a lot of folks guess that we tend to work evenings for some odd reason...?

A lot of folks think we all have day jobs & so it would be easier to get hold of us in the evening. Anything after 9pm is a bit out of order phone wise though.
Email & FormMail enquiries can come in at any time really as the assumption is you'll reply when you are next looking at your emails. It does surprise some how quick they get a reply.

Slightly off topic but with a virgin web site (just about got it sorted) how many hits would you call average per day?
To get more hits does it help to pay per click and set up key words on google for example????
As you can tell I am a bit new to this

What do you mean by business hours?
Unless you are only working in the corporate market, you must loose business!
Imaging I need a DJ and get home from work and call you around say 6.30pm.... you won't answer/take the booking:confused:
When I was doing lots of mobile work, I'd say 85% of disco related calls were after 6pm. But then I didn't advertise, it was all word-of-mouth or from other DJ's, so the callers probably realised I work full time.
I guess it's different for full time DJ's who advertise.
