If im wrong im sorry but DMX is DMX and linking the two together shouldn't be a problem. the chips are just eproms for the programming. Have you set the addresses right on the master and slave.
Master dipswitch 1 on and all the rest off and slave should have 2, 3, and 10 on.
Try using the dynarock as a master, so use its dmx out, them plug into the dynamo's. Or if you've two dynarocks, plug the out from the first into the in of the other dynarock, then into the dynamo, surely that should fix it if that is the case.

Not sure you can plug the dynarocks with the dynascans.Try linking one rock to one scan and see what happens.I think you may need a dmx desk and program them.
Try these settings
scan dip switch 1 on
scan dip switches 1 and 3 on
Rock dip switches 1 and 8 on
Rock dip switches 1,4 and 8 on
Scan dip switches 5 and 2 on
Scan dip switches 2,3 and 5 on
Try linking a rock to a scan only and see what happens

I get the impression that Wayne wants to master and slave link them, rather than DMX using a desk.

Had thr same problem with my dynamo's and dynarocks. I simply use a dmx controller rather than master slave to fix the problem. been meaning to get them chipped but keep forgetting.
