Hi all,
As I have said before, I do a regular night at my local called 'Request Fest' which is a night where the punters pick the playlist by writing down songs that they want to hear throughout the night. There are so many different tracks that get asked for and it's always a good night. I thought that I would write down the tunes that I played for the middle part of the evening (9.30pm - 10.30pm) so you could see how eclectic it is. Looking back on it now I find it amazing that the tracks I played had everyone interested because if you were to do it at a 'normal' function (haha) then switching from one genre to another genre so randomly would definitely not work in my opinion but hey!...take a look at this lot and tell me what you think.

Tubeway Army - Are 'friends' electric?
Dizzee Rascal - Old Skool
Chemical Brothers - The Test
Serge Taniken - Lie Lie Lie
Journey - Don't stop believin'
Erasure - A little respect
Suede - The Drowners
Liquid - Sweet Harmony
The Wombats - Moving to New York
ACDC - Back in black
Prodigy vs Kylie - (Mash Up) Slow my 'B' up
Chas & Dave - Aint no pleasing you
Small Faces - Itchycoo Park
David Bowie - Star Man
Soulja Boy - Krank that
Sheryl Crow - Everyday is a winding road
The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger

Linkin Park vs Britney Spears (Mash Up) - Faint Toxic

I stopped writing them down after that but if I remember rightly, the track to follow that was.... Johnny Cash - Ring of fire
That gives you some idea of what the night is like and that's just a small section of the set. Yes, there have been comments in the past that I am a living jukebox but I think that's wrong. I interract with the crowd with banter etc and...well, you have to be there to see how it works so well. When I turn up to set up, people can't wait for me to get the request slips out so that they can start thinking of tunes. Some people have even said to me that they have thought about tracks during the week so that they can hear them played in a mashed up set.
