Stands carry bag

What do you use to carry your giraffe type stand components around in? I've just bought one and the cardboard boxes it came in are obviously not the long term answer.

Are there bags available, similar to speaker stand ones, or do they have to made to order?

Maybe a tent type bag would do, I've even thought of using a golf bag for the struts etc.

I believe these are avaliable but are quite pricey. I've seen something simular for over £100 (for a bag!!!). i think most people just carry it around as it comes. A bag seems pointless and can't see them lasting long.

I strap all the speaker and dj stands and bits together with elasticated straps--like you used to get for car roof racks but shorter:D

I find with standard tripod type stands (x4, in my case) that lying a standard hand truck down, lying the tripods down on top with their tops at the handle end, and if needs be a bungy cord or luggage strap, works well. Not sure I explained that well.

I bought a 6' Giraffe bag set (comes in two bits - one for the side panels which I don't use, and a long thin one for the uprights and overheads) for about £35 (forget where) and it's a good sturdy bag that carries all my long things perfectly. I've used it (and abused it) for about 2 years and it quite often stays strapped to the roofrack in all weathers and is still going strong.

I carry in it all the components for a 6' and a 4' deckstand plus two giraffe tripods that I use for video cameras etc. and a mic stand.

Look around the usual suppliers on the web.

Great value.

Same sort of thing, but use re-usable cable ties.

Soundlab make one, I bought one for my goalpost, it all fits in great and the bag is well padded, bargain off ebay £20:D , however, the zip is now broke :rolleyes: and to be honest it's way too heavy with all the gear in:attn: . And it's approx 6ft 6" long and 3ft wide, Thinking of putting some sort of wheels on one end, as its too heavy and too awkward to carry.
But it does pass for a good bodybag!!!!!.

I bought a cracking bag from e-bay only last week. Its just for the poles mind. Its a tent pole bag for a marquee. heavy duty material with a drawstring, 4ft high and it only cost about a fiver plus postage. bargain.

for my giraffe stand i use a fishing bag, fit's everything in apart from the frame. works brilliantly easy to pack away and easy for storage.

got mine for 10 quid in argos.
