Oh bugger! CA-8 help on connector

Hi folks
I wanted to try a CA-8 controller with my skytec DMX Robo Scans which have the normal xlr type DMX connections.
Only the CA-8 has arrived with a jack type plug on the end.
Now it may have been an oversight on my part and maybe they are available with XLR.
Is there an adapter I can obtain in order to use it with my lights.

As i know all CA-8 controllers comes with a jack plug. Me thinks:confused: and not heard of any connecter type thing. I'm guessing those light of yours don't have a jack you can link across with a DMX lead to the other unit? should work:confused:

No none of my lights have a jack connector.
Its all a bit of an experiment to be honest but it may work if I can hook them up.

Even using an adaptor, I wouldn't have thought there's any guarantee a CA8 will work a non Acme product

Squire sound and light seem to do the thing I need for under £5 so we will see if it works.

OK ive got my adapter and im going to attempt to get the lights working with the CA-8. Does anyone know what the dip settings should be in order for the lights to understand the CA-8.

Should it not pick them up automaticaly??? as long as you have them master to slave and the controler plugged into the master don't think it matters.
could be wrong tho.

Ive now tried that with no joy so far.
Maybe my experiment will not work unless anyone knows of other dip settings?

You should have done your homework boyo! I'm not too sure if the CA8 works with all disco lights and believe they only work with ACME.

The CA-8 works with the Visio pars. You can use the CA-32 or the CA-8.

Sorry mate but like everyone has said CA-8 only works with lights made buy the same company that makes the controller. For example i couldnt plug a CA8 into my martin lights.

Well it was worth a go.
Theres always got to be people experimenting and this time its me!
Ive not given up with my DMX Master 1 but the idea of a controller for my smaller set up was appealing just to have a few pre programed shows to choose from.
