Hi guys,
Just updating my lighting rig at the moment

This is my current light rig what i use for a medium sized show:

http://www.mega-mixentertainments.co.uk/images/MediumShow2.jpg

I am thinking of scaling it down and leaving the 2 Moonflower effects on the end and then loose the 2 barrel effects in the middle and also the chauvet abyss and add in 4 Acme Dynamos and then 2 Led Par cans hidden behind the flames lighting up the walls behind me

Let me know what you think guys just abit stuck on what to do with it

Hi Steve,

Yeah I think that having 4 Dynamo's on the the truss will give a bit more uniformity. Think it would definately improve the look.

That said it is a bit hard to see from your pic what the current effects look like as they are not showing their beams.

The lights look fine.
Was a bit surprised at the small louspeakers tho.

I use 2 speaker boxes with 2 * 12 inch with 250watts RMS speakers in them.
I have a couple of spare base bins one 350 watts RMS and the other 800 watts RMS which I take to bigger gigs.

It doesnt matter how good the light show is if the sound is weak.

Does size matter?

I thought it was more about efficiency.

They don't even look that small. And i challenge you to come hear my 10" tops and tell me they're not loud (enough). :D

Just out of interest Danno, what tops are you using. As you may have seen from my DJ Guard Claim post, I may be looking for a new pair.

i am scaling it down weight wise as i forgot to mention as the Gantry is bending with the weight slighty,

My pa is small and easy to move around i use Turbosound 15" Bass bins and 12" tops and is a total of 1400w more than adequate for most of the functions that i perfom at, Don't be fooled by its small size, it is that way to move around easily, rather than breaking your back with double bass bins that weight a ton.
As you most of you are not aware i work on my own most of the time so want to make the job quick and efficent.

Thanks for the advice guys, i am going to go with the 2 abstract XP5 moonflowers on the end and then the 4 dynamos in the middle for now and the par cans on the floor, nice show i think, i will post some pictures of it once i take it out next.

Thanks again guys

this should be a good show.

if it was me, why not loose the flames aswell?

Well the flames are what sell it as a bigger package too, and they hide the nasty legs of the winch stands to be fair too.

ahh ok. in that case just use them for the large shows where you would need to hire people to help you out. just an idea.

Martin Audio F10s.

Very nice. I've herd a few Martin Audio systems and they sound fantastic. Probably out of my price range though!

Look out for a good second hand deal. I got mine, along with a pair of decent subs for £600. There's a pair on ebay at the moment I think.
