Noisy CD player

Hi,
I’ve got a CD Mix 1; it makes a noise when playing CD’s. It sounds like the laser is tracking back and forth.
It doesn’t seem to affect it playing.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

I can’t afford to send it back at the moment and the last thing I want is it to fail just when I need it.

Could be dust build up around the laser or on the platter. Could try an air duster gently around the lens (not on it) it may even be a warped disc doing it. Does it do it on all discs? If so then check the platter is true. (where the cd ip pressed to the motor to spin up in the drive. sometimes it can become loose or get a bit of dirt on it and the discs lay at a slight angle on it .
