Well on their press release page they clearly state an agreement has been reached with Sony BMG Music. How the royalties would be distributed would, I guess depend on the amount of downloads for each track. I expect the way the system is set up is that somehow if I downloaded a track from you they would know about it.

But are they talking about buying the track or some article/service they are advertising? Because it's through advertising they get their income, that in turn is then passed on to the artists (I think)

If you wish to use the tracks freely on your mp3 player or ipod, outside of their software, you can buy the track as stated.

Thats abit like saying why buy music when you can listen to it on the radio or watch it on TV.

Gotcha, so I suppose they are offering you an "in your house" music library but if you want to listen to it away from your computer you have to pay for it.
