Hi, I´m new to the forum and have been doing karaoke disco in my own bar for the past 9 months.
I have just updated my laptop and my o/s is vista with the new ati radeon graphics hd 2400. I was having problems with all kinds of software:bang: until i found ots av.
Is this the best program for me??
and Do i have to convert all my files to ots??

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Lots of people use OTS and say it is very stable. Soeone else will answer about the files.

Ots is extremely stable and reliable, some would put it number one for those attributes.

You don't HAVE to convert your files to Ots files, as Ots does play mp3's, however I would say it is advisable as the options open to you then as to what you can do with Ots are far greater. I must say this is based on the dj side, as I don't do karaoke.

Changing mp3's to Ots is a fairly simple and painless operation but then it becomes a very time consuming operation putting all the 'chunks' in place. It can take you hours and hours to set up just one album 'just the way you want it' but trust me it's well worth the effort. Don't be afraid to go on the Ots users forum for help, they're a great bunch (Just like here!!! http://planetsmilies.net/happy-smiley-748.gif)

Good luck

I have a load of old Sunfly/Sing The World cdg's which I intend to convert to mp3g's to save carrying the discs and to save on space, does OTS AV play these? :)

i was always under the impression that with OTS you had to use their format for the best results and full functionality... But then i must admit i'm not up to full speed on the latest version of OTS as im still with Virtual DJ :D (now with even better karaoke support :P)

Tony, as I said I don't do Karaoke so I'm sorry I can't help you but try their forum and I'm sure you'll get the information you need. http://planetsmilies.net/music-smiley-1319.gif http://www.otsusers.com/forum/

Thanks for the advice, I agree that the program itself looks great and I think it might be worth the time and effort to convert all my files.... but i´m having trouble with converting alot of video footage.
Any advice please????
